Ivy turns one!

In honor of Ivy Turning one this month, I have included a few of my favorite pictures of her throughout the first year of her life.

Grandma Thomas took this perfect picture the morning after she was born
This is probably my favorite picture of Ivy, she is 9 months old
Ivy loves to smile for the camera

This picture was taken on the 24th of July 2008. She was a mess with one shoe on and one shoe off, but I think this picture is adorable.
Binkies, Either way, It's all goodOn the Fourth of July Ivy looked adorable with a big white flower in her hair (for 5 minutes) before she ripped it out never to be worn again.
later that day she took a little dip in the swimming pool in our back yard to cool off

Ivy turned 1 year old on July 6 2008. She was having a miserable day because she was getting a mouthful of teeth. I love this picture of her holding her balloon and just bawling. She was wearing the cute little dress we bought her in mexico. Here she is opening a present from Jake and Lisa and fam - They gave her the most adorable dress I have ever seen. She finally cheered up when we brought out the birthday cake. She tried to eat it with a shovel. I don't blame her, it was a really yummy cake. Kelly made it all by himself, I am so proud!

Ivy has been the the greatest gift our family could ask for. She has brought tons of joy and laughter into our home over the last year. She has started to talk and says a few words "that" "this" "light" "dada" "momma" "sissy"-for aspen. She loves to make car noises while she drives toy cars around. She loves to clap and make others laugh.

One way to cheer her up if she is sad is to take her outside and draw with sidewalk chalk. It is her absolute favorite thing. She loves to play with it as well as eat it. I can't keep it out of her mouth, but it makes her so happy. a few days after her birthday Josh and I took her out and we all drew a big american flag with chalk, she helped color it. Then she rolled in it and had an absolute great time. Then we gave her a bath and she gave me the cutest smile ever. That smile made my whole day.

Ivy has offically entered the "messy" stage of life, It comes with walking I think and discovering new things. She started really walking about a week and 1/2 before her first birthday, and has

been a mess ever since, but because messes on babies are cute, I have included some of her messy pictures. Other than chalk her other favorite thing to put in her mouth is dirt, or mud, the yuckier the better.

but she also loves her milk, she loves to spit it and dribble it out of her bottle onto the floor, and she loves to feed herself. Hardly a meal goes by without her wearing more food than eating it.
